Privacy policy
This policy explains what information QwikPlot collects when you use our platform, why we collect it, and the choices you have. QwikPlot is operated from Harare, Zimbabwe, and provides software that estates, brokerages and developers use to sell land, and that buyers use to purchase it.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your name, email address and phone number, along with a password that we store only in encrypted form.
- Transaction information. When you book or buy a parcel, we hold the details of that purchase: the parcels involved, the agreements, the payments you make and the documents issued to you.
- Payment information. Payments are processed by Stripe and Paynow. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded together with a limited reference, but your full card and mobile-money details are handled by those providers and are never stored on our servers.
- Technical information. Like most websites, we record basic technical details such as your device, browser and approximate location, which helps us keep the service secure and working.
- Communications. If you contact us or an agent through the platform, we keep those messages so the conversation has a record.
How we use your information
We use your information to run the platform: to create and secure your account, to process bookings and payments, to generate the documents a sale requires, to keep you informed about your purchase, and to improve and protect the service. We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How we share information
Because QwikPlot connects buyers with the estates selling to them, some of your information is necessarily shared with the operator you transact with, such as your name, contact details and the record of your purchase, so that the sale can be carried out. We also rely on a small number of trusted service providers, for example for hosting, email and payments, who process information on our behalf and only for that purpose. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect the rights and safety of our users.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the platform to work, such as keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising trackers.
How we keep your information safe
We protect your information with encryption in transit, hashed passwords and access controls, and we limit who on our side can see personal data. No system is ever perfectly secure, but we treat the information you trust us with as exactly that.
How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for as long afterwards as we are required to, for example to meet legal, accounting or dispute-resolution obligations connected to a land sale.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it if it is wrong, or to have it deleted where we are not required to keep it. Get in touch using the details below and we will help.
Children
QwikPlot is not intended for anyone under the age of eighteen, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the date above and, where it is appropriate, let you know.
