§ GuideFor buyers

How to buy a parcel, from the map to the title.

Buying land should be the most reassuring large purchase you ever make, not the most nerve-wracking one. On QwikPlot every step happens in the open and leaves a record you can check, so you always know what you are paying for and exactly where your purchase stands. Here is how it works, from the moment you find a parcel you want.

The seven steps

01
Find the parcel on the map
An estate on QwikPlot opens as a real satellite map, with every parcel drawn on its true boundary and coloured by whether it is available, booked or sold. You can filter by price, size and release phase, and when you tap a parcel you see exactly what it covers before you commit to anything.
02
Reserve it with a booking fee
Once you have found the parcel you want, a booking fee holds it in your name. The moment that payment clears, the parcel is reserved to you and removed from everyone else’s map, so no one else can claim it while your booking is live.
03
Meet your agent and make your offer
An agent is assigned to carry your purchase, and you submit your offer to buy through the platform, which is also where the administration fee is settled. From here you have one person on the inside and one record that the two of you are reading together.
04
Pay your deposit and receive your Agreement of Sale
The deposit confirms the purchase, and the platform draws up your Agreement of Sale from the live record and hands it to you. Everything it says matches what you agreed, because it is generated from the same record rather than typed up separately somewhere else.
05
Pay it off on a plan that suits you
Most buyers settle the balance over time. Your payment plan, its length and any interest are set out clearly at the start, every installment you make is receipted, and your statement of account keeps itself current so you can always see what is left to pay.
06
Receive your clearance letter
The instant your final payment clears, the platform issues your clearance letter on its own. It confirms that you have met every obligation on the parcel, and you never have to chase anyone to produce it.
07
Move toward title
From there the parcel moves toward its registered title through the conveyancing process. QwikPlot is built to work alongside the conveyancers who handle that step, so you can follow it from the same record you have used all along rather than wait in the dark.

How to buy with confidence

A few simple habits keep any land purchase safe, and the platform is built so that they are the easy thing to do rather than the careful exception. See the exact parcel before you pay for it, on a map drawn from its real boundaries, so you know precisely what you are buying. Keep every payment on the platform rather than off it, so each one is recorded and receipted in your name.

Hold on to the documents you are issued, which QwikPlot keeps for you in one place instead of scattered across messages and drawers. And check your record whenever you want to, because the status you see is the same status your agent and the developer are looking at. None of this asks you to be an expert in property. It asks you to use a process that was designed to be checked.

The best way to understand how this works is to walk a live one. Tapsington Estate is selling on QwikPlot now, parcel by parcel, on the same map and the same record described here.
